The Fame Academy Dance School offers classes for all ages and levels, from the 5 year old beginner to advanced grades. In addition we also coach individuals for associate or membership examinations. You are able to select the subjects that you study and may take multiple classes covering several genres or multiple classes in one single style of dance. In an effort to provide the students with the best experience The Dance School will offer workshops with guest teachers at various points in the year. Each year students will have the opportunity to take medal tests and/or examinations plus they will have at least one performance opportunity.

Higher Dance - The Fame Academy is an approved center with the Scottish Qualification Authority and is fully accredited to offer the Higher Dance qualification. Entry is by audition and candidates must have a minimum of four years dance training. Students from either the Dance School or the Musical Theatre Senior course are eligible. |

Ballet is a beautiful form of dance, demanding excellent technique and superb artistry. It is advised that students study ballet along with jazz or tap to provide a strong foundation of technique. Students will be presented for medal tests and/or graded examinations.When female students have acquired strong technique and appropriate physical maturity (must be at least 12 yrs of age ) they will progress to pointe work

Jazz is the most popular form of dance, seen in musical theatre, music videos and television. Jazz covers a wide variety of styles from lyrical to hip hop. Students will be presented for medal tests and/or graded examinations..

Modern is an interesting genre which covers some similar work to jazz, but also begins to look at contemporary work offering the student technique coupled with the opportunity to develop their creative side. Students will be presented for medal tests and/or graded examinations. |

Tap is exciting and challenging. It incorporates many styles and techniques and offers the student a chance to develop musicality. Tap is a valuable skill to have for anyone interested in dance or musical theatre as a vocation. Students will be presented for medal tests and/or graded examinations. |
Teaching Qualifications: You can be trained for presentation as an associate, or member into the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. Anyone interested should contact Heather Murray to arrange an interview.
