BATD Scholarships
The Fame Academy is very proud to announce that some of our students have been honoured with a nomination for the scholarships, held in Scotland this year on the weekend of Oct 2nd and 3rd
Congratulations to all those who have been nominated.
An amazing 11 nominations!
Students who enter for ballet, jazz or tap graded examinations with “The British Association of Teachers of Dancing” in grade three or above are eligible to be nominated for entry into the scholarship class held once every year.
Students must attain a mark of Honours, but that alone is not enough, they have to impress the examiner by dancing with superb technical skill married with presentation and musicality.
The students put forward for scholarship gather together to take a master class whilst a panel of three impartial adjudicators watch intently as they are taken through the comprehensive class. Many BATD scholarship winners can be found in the professional world of dance.
We would like to wish the students well as they head off to dance with Great Britain’s most promising young dancers.

Scottish Ballet

The graduating “Higher Dance” students and the future “Higher Dance” students at The Fame Academy were inspired by a lecture from Scottish Ballet. Professionals from Scottish Ballet delivered a workshop at The Fame Academy “Conversation in Choreography” which enabled the students a unique insight to the art of choreography. They viewed some fantastic sections of very successful ballets and were able to discuss concepts about choreography from a dancer’s point of view and from the choreographer’s point of view. The experience was exceptional and inspiring for our young dancers. We look forward to future events with Scottish Ballet.
